Die Idee für den Text kam als uns auffiel, in wie vielen Fernsehsendungen Ska Jingles im Hintergrund oder als Titelmelodie liefen zu dem Zeitpunkt. Das war schon befremdlich aber die Tatsache dass selbst sehr poppige Ska Sachen (welche dort meist benutzt wurden) in Deutschland kaum kommerzielles Radio Airplay hatten war im Gegensatz dazu sehr paradox. Das Erstere (Jingles) hat sich zum GLück wieder überlebt, das Zweitere (Radio) sollte hoffentlich so bleiben.

Verse 1:
yes I can still remember, how that felt to me
hanging around at some stupid disco, yearning for a skanking beat
now it seems I can hear it everywhere, radio and TV
background jingles or mixed with pop and I wonder what it means

Refrain:
cause I don't know what's going on a new trend or real growth
but if it's gonna be a sellout then I will sure say no

Verse 2:
don't get wrong what I'm saying, I'm not against an honest growth
but bigger crouds can attract big money and it means that something could be sold
well some might say that it will be okay if the audiences grow
but major labels can scent the money, try to sell ska as the next big show

yes I fear that ska could grow and the audience grows too
I'm afraid that it could change the spirit
will rudeboys still be rude?

Verse 3:
sometimes it's worth to sit back, remind the spirit in your heart
sometimes it's worth beginning, it all again just from the start
even if mainstream destroys our subculture and you're disgusted and you got no plan
go back to the roots and just do what you wan't and try to build it up again
